We don't specialise in this type of music but we always have the odd one or two songs that will fit in if we're invited to perform at a gospel session.

Let's end at the beginning...
We were held up by an overnight storm on the flight from Manchester to Lunenburg in August. Long story... involving an unplanned overnight stay in Philadelphia without benefit of luggage and a 4 a.m. alarm call. We had to re-route from Philadelphia to Boston and (changing terminals) from Boston to Halifax where we were picked up by Debs and driven down to the festival. Thanks, Debs - you are a hero! Anyhow, suffice it to say that instead of arriving at the festival on Wednesday night we actually arrived on Thursday afternoon, barely 20 minutes before our first gig, an informal meet-the-artist session, so with no time to get to our accommodation, wash and change, we did an hour of chat and singing at the Fisheries Museum under a canopy sheltering a toy boat-launcher (hence the big tank of water behind us) trying to keep out of the blazing sun. We were wearing the clothes we'd been travelling in for close on 48 hours, but we didn't have to worry about falling over from tiredness. The clothes were stiff enough to stand up on their own and probably hummed along nicely. It was good to see so many long-time fans who'd made a special effort to be at the festival early. How could we disappoint them?
So, of course, it always happens when you're not really ready for it... there was a fan with a video camera... Our thanks to 'gkazin'. So please forgive us if we look like we'd been on the road for two days... we had. Anyhow, here's the result. Enjoy!

A song by Anne Lister, recorded by Artisan back in 1992 n the CD Rockin' at the End of Time.
A request. We hadn't sung it in years, but it was still loaded into memory, thank goodness.

Totally fried after 48 hours of travelling we really shouldn't have attempted something so new, but we think the audience enjoyed seeing us trip over our own words more than they would have enjoyed it if we'd got the damn thing right. For a version without mistakes listen to the CD: Random Play.
